The COVID-19 pandemic displaced many Gwinnett County residents and nonprofits, leaving them without sufficient essential items, such as shelf-stable food, personal care, cleaning items, finances, and support, to ensure they would make ends meet. Thus, Gwinnett Great Days of Service pivoted its approach from mainly projects to collection drives. A collection drive is where individuals, civic groups, churches, businesses, nonprofits, families, schools, universities, and healthcare organizations host an event collecting essential items for a local nonprofit in need. This year, Gwinnett Great Days of Service has streamlined its approach to ensure the selection process for this year’s event is efficient and effective. Review the step-by-step process as a collector below.

Collection Application Details with Steps

To begin this process:

  1. Click the “Find An Organization” page under the “Collections” dropdown tab to view all adoptable organizations.
  2. View each recipient, requested items, pickup and delivery dates, special instructions, etc.
  3. To select a recipient, click “Adopt this agency”. You will be redirected to a signup page.

NOTE: Some organizations may be able to pick up your collected items, and some are not. This information will be listed on the GGDOS website. If you choose an organization that cannot pick up your items, you MUST deliver on the day indicated on our website. Please contact a Gwinnett Great Days of Service Team Member at gdos@gwinnettcoalition.org  with any questions or concerns before signing this agreement.

After signing up to “Adopt” an organization, you will receive a confirmation email. Any subsequent emails concerning your collection will be sent by a Gwinnett Great Days of Service Team Member.
